Hello and welcome to SPECIALITIES.
In my time I have done many things of interest,but nothing is more satisfying than when I paint on silk. As you will see as you browse through our on-line shop, there are many different painted silks,and all washable with the exception of the framed pictures. I was always very much into art & craft,and when a silk painting course became available in my local area I decided to give it a go. I passed with five accreditations,and followed this up with a diploma in art & design technology(silk painting).
To date I have made so many silk projects that there are too many to mention,but I must say the best one of all was when I was asked to make a silk scarf for the actor Alan Rickman of Harry Potter and Die Hard fame, you will find this item on the silk pages. I make framed pictures,scarves, shawls,cushions,handkercheifs and napkins, I don't have a favourite type to do, I enjoy doing them all. If there is a particular image that you require,just ask and it shall be done.
About Chelle and knitting
Michelle has recently joined SPECIALITIES,she brings with her a wealth of knowledge on knitting.She not only knits clothing,but the most amazing novelties,toys and displays you have possibly ever seen.Michelle started knitting when she was only 4 years old,and if you look at her work you will see it is to the highest quality you could possibly find in the UK. Michelle joined the team in January this year,and has taken part in the early craft fairs.

me and bouquets
Well,what can I say really....I did floristry,but as i have hey fever it was a bit of a let down for me with fresh flowers, so i decided to use silk ones instead. I don't just do them for weddings. I have been asked to do them for births, christenings, 40th etc. I try to put as much detail in as possible, including feathers,crystals,porcelain and diamontes, with a selection of complimenting ribbons. But you be the judge and take a look for yourself.
Candle rings
As you will see as you browse, we do hand made candle rings inc the candle,you can choose the colours so it matches you decor. We also do them as table pieces for Christmas,think about what a talking point it would be for you guests.
Hand painted candle votives
We also do hand painted candle votives inc a scented candle,lit Christmas swags for over the fire, Christmas wreaths,beautiful gift sets, hand made soaps, burning crystals, and bath bombs. We are hoping to do some hand painted vases in the near future.
Whatever you choose be it in silk,or a candle votive, these items can be personalised. They are great for weddings,birthdays,anniversaries,christenings etc. The only limit is yourself. We aim to be as affordable as possible.
